Location
Situated close to the heart of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Manly Vale is approximately 17km north-east from the Sydney central business district. The suburb is governed at the local level by the Northern Beaches Council.
Demographics & Properties
Manly Vale appeals to a wide range of people including singles, families, beach lovers and surfers. The local population are majority Australian born, with the largest contingent of those born overseas being of English, New Zealand and Chinese origin.
Lifestyle & Amenities
The main shopping strip is located along Condamine Street where most of the shopping essentials can be found including supermarkets, cafes and retail stores. Two other nearby shopping strips are located in Freshwater and along the Manly boulevard. The Stockland Balgowlah Shopping Centre offering more than 100 shops is also a short drive from the suburb. Most notably, the suburb is in close proximity to some of Sydney’s most popular and picturesque beaches – most of which are family and swimming friendly.
Transport
Manly Vale is well connected by bus to the city. The approximately journey times takes approximately 35 minutes and typically operates every 15 minutes. There is also a regular ferry service that connect the neighboring suburb of Manly to the central city. This includes a standard 35-minute ferry and a fast ferry that takes less than 20 minutes. The direct bus to the central city takes approximately 35 minutes. There are also an extensive number of busses that service the greater area, connecting it with other northern beach suburbs.
Education
Manly Vale is home to nine schools in the immediate area, including a range of primary and secondary options. The schools include Balgowlah Heights Public School, Balgowlah North Public School, Farmhouse Montessori School, Manly Vale Public School, Manly West Public School, Northern Beaches Secondary College Boy Campus, Northern Beaches Secondary College Girls Campus, St Cecilia’s Catholic Primary School and St Kieran’s Catholic Primary School.
